About this service

Monitoring & alerts

An online threat against a manager, a rumor about the company or a conversation starting to spread all look like noise at first. The difference between noise and a warning sign is usually a matter of time.

I follow a topic, person or company in open sources, identify who stands behind a threat or a conversation, and alert you when something changes. Every finding is marked as fact or assessment.

The deliverable lets you respond in time: contact the right party, adjust a message, or simply know what is going on.

All FAQs
Does monitoring include the dark web?

No. By deliberate choice I don’t mine the dark web, and work only with open sources. What I never do.

Can you identify who is behind an anonymous account?

Sometimes, when open traces are enough to connect. Any such identification is presented as an assessment, with the evidence it rests on.

How do I receive alerts?

In a way we agree on in advance, according to the topic and its urgency.

Core concepts, in brief

Online threat monitoring

Protection

Tracking threats and statements on social networks against executives, high-net-worth individuals and companies, and mapping who is behind them.

Monitoring and alerts

Open-source intelligence

OSINT · Core concept

Collecting and analyzing information that has been published openly and legally: media, social networks, websites and official publications. The value is never in a single piece of information, but in cross-checking many of them.

What is OSINT

Dark web

Boundaries

A part of the internet that a regular browser cannot reach, also used to trade stolen data. I decided that Modi-In does not mine it for information.

What I don’t do

Facts vs. assessments

Analytic thinking

A ground rule of intelligence analysis: separate what is known from what is estimated, and go back to the original raw data when an old assessment starts behaving like a fact.
